The Made Plain Standard
This is the standard each tool is held to. A tool that can’t meet it doesn’t go out under the Made Plain name.
Purpose
- Each tool does one job, and its name says which.
- You can finish that job without instructions.
- The main action is in view when the page opens.
Respect
- You never need an account, a login, or an email address.
- You won’t meet ads, trackers, cookie walls, or upsell pop-ups.
- Your files stay in your browser wherever that is possible. When they can’t, the tool says so before anything is uploaded.
- Any analytics are aggregate only and respect your privacy.
Craft
- It is ready to use in under a second on a mid-range phone.
- You can operate it with a keyboard alone. It meets WCAG 2.2 AA.
- It works on phone, tablet, and desktop, in light and dark.
- Every empty, loading, error, and success state is designed, not left to a default.
Finality
- The address is permanent. It won’t be renamed, paywalled, or removed without notice.
- Settings and state can be shared in the URL where that makes sense.
- It works offline after the first load, where possible.
About
We got tired of simple jobs buried under accounts, ads, and upsells. So we build small tools that do one job and then get out of the way. Its Logical makes them, one at a time. Each one is finished before it goes out, and its address is meant to last.
